Clek to help drive families & support at SickKids Great Camp Adventure Walk
Car seat company will raise $10,000 for Foundation
Toronto, June 2, 2014 – Clek, the Canadian car seat company known for safety, innovation, and modern style, today announced its participation in, and support of, the second annual Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure Walk benefiting The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
“Clek will raise $10,000 for SickKids by donating five per cent of our Canadian online sales to help support care, education and research at the hospital. We will also be donating twenty child seats again this year to be used at the event. After the Great Camp Adventure Walk, the car seats will be donated to families in need,” says Chris Lumley, President of Clek.
Clek will provide a combination of compact convertible car seats and booster seats for the shuttles that are used for participants who have completed their chosen distance of the adventure walk and need a lift back to main camp to participate in other fun activities.
“SickKids is so pleased to have Clek return as a sponsor this year. We are thankful for Clek’s generosity and for their commitment towork together to protect our kids and enhance the participants’ event experience” says Paula Menzes, Director of Sponsorship and Cause Marketing at SickKids Foundation.
The Great Camp Adventure Walk, occurring on Saturday, September 27, 2014, is a full day of adventure. Families will challenge themselves to walk five, 10, 15 or 20 kilometres, stopping at fun-filled campsites along the way, all in the spirit of raising funds and healthier kids. Proceeds support the hospital’s most urgent needs, through the Possibilities Fund.
“Healthy children are the cornerstones of healthy communities. Supporting the inspirational and globally recognized SickKids Foundation is an honour and we look forward to a lasting relationship,” says Lumley.
